Delaware Park Casino & Racing makes $7,500 donation
Delaware’s Boys & Girls Club is the latest beneficiary from a series of donations.
Delaware Park Casino & Racing has donated $7,500 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware in its efforts to assist local charitable organizations. The Boys & Girls Club is an organization that empowers young people to “to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
In an effort to raise funds, the casino has placed donation boxes throughout its facility. Delaware Park receives cash contributions and unused vouchers from its guests and issues a check to its charity of choice each month.
The casino said in a statement: “September’s collections and a large cash donation from Delaware Park will benefit Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County.”
Delaware Park Casino and Habitat for Humanity will work together on a community building project, scheduled for September 14. The casino will also take up a collection for the Food Bank of Delaware during the month.
Delaware Park Casino & Racing president and general manager Ron Baumann said: “Community outreach is one of our cornerstone values. We are committed to monthly fundraising efforts, as well as coordinating opportunities for our team members to engage with these vital organizations.”
Delaware Park Casino & Racing recently donated $10,000 to Meals on Wheels Delaware (MOWD). The casino said it received contributions from its guests for a period of two months this summer and cut a check for MOWD once all donations were collected.
The casino does not plan to cease its charitable giving. Each month, Delaware Park will collect donations to support different local charities. The casino plans to use future funds collected to aid the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Food Bank of Delaware and Faithful Friends.
