New Dream Las Vegas casino hotel near aiport to break ground July 8
The facility is expected to open by the end of 2024.
Dream Las Vegas will hold a groundbreaking ceremony July 8 for its 531-room casino resort on Las Vegas Boulevard, which is south of Russell Road near the airport. This will be the latest hotel casino construction project for the south edge of the Las Vegas Strip.
The new facility project has an estimated cost of $550m and will feature meeting and event space, a third-level pool deck and restaurants. It will stand about a mile from Allegiant Stadium on nearly five acres, located between the Pinball Hall of Fame arcade and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership.
It will also stand close to the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, a frequent stop for Las Vegas tourists.
Dream Las Vegas, which is being developed by South California firms Shopoff Realty Investments and Contour is expected to open by the end of 2024.
Plans to construct Dream has originally been announced in February 2020, with the intent to break ground last year. The Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide business shutdowns that followed put the casino hotel’s previous construction plans on hold.
The project has faced another obstacle with concerns about its location. Possible illegal drone flying, laser lights and bombs hidden in garbage trucks were among the concerns raised and motivated several design changes to the casino hotel.
Shopoff Senior Vice President of Design Bill Smith said that the resort will be Dream Hotel Group of New York City’s flagship property.
Dream Hotel Group has several locations, including ones in Manhattan, Miami Beach, Nashville, Hollywood and Bangkok.
The operator plans to open several more locations in the future.
