CEO Stuart Simms to resign from XLMedia
He plans to step down in the next few months.
XLMedia CEO Stuart Simms has decided to resign from his position. He notified the company’s Board of Directors that he will be leaving to pursue other interests.
Simms will remain with the company during the next few months to insure a smooth transition and to support the executive team and board.
The company’s board is currently undergoing a formal search process to find another executive to serve as the next CEO. The board plans to identify someone who would keep the company on its current trajectory for growth and success.
Simms said the North American market has been a large company focus during his time there.
“During my time at XLMedia, and with the support of my team, we have been able to deliver substantive, tangible change; de-risking the core business whilst moving the company’s operational focus towards the growing North American Sports market – creating a strong asset base capable of delivering shareholder value for many years to come,” he said.
XLMedia Interim-Chair Julie Markey took a moment to thank Simms for his dedication to the company.
“I would like to thank Stuart for his contribution to XLMedia through a very challenging period in our history,” Markey said. “He departs having expanded our sports footprint in North America, a key strategic focus. I, on behalf of the board, wish him all the very best for the future.”
The company has had additional leadership changes during the past several months. Caroline Ackroyd stepped in as the company’s Chief Financial Officer in March, after completing a six-month notice period.
XLMedia had announced Ackroyd’s appointment to the board in November 2021, along with naming Rowan Ellis as Interim CFO.
