DraftKings debuts free-to-play pool for International Women’s Day
Company holiday to be held in honor of the day.
To help share the “Break the Bias” initiative, DraftKings has revealed special edition merchandise and a free-to-play pool throughout March.
The DraftKings offices will be closed on International Women’s Day as it recognizes the day as a company holiday. It also unveiled special edition merchandise, including “Break the Bias. Beat the Odds” t-shirts. These t-shirts will see 100% of the proceeds going to women’s organizations.
In an effort to celebrate women in sports, DraftKings also announced a free-to-play pool. Titled the “Free $1K Women’s History Month Pool”, DraftKings is offering free entry to bet on some of the most significant moments in women’s sports.
For each question, bettors will select what they think is the most common answer among everyone entered in the pool. As of writing, there are already over 25,000 entries, and the number continues to grow.
This free-to-play pool will be available for the entire month of March, ending on March 31st at 5pm EST. Each bettor is allowed a single entry to the pool and your entry must be submitted by the date above.
Examples of these questions include, “What do you think was the most important sports moment for women?” Answers to the above question might be, “Billie Jean King beats Bobby Riggs” and more.
DraftKings also put together a special edition of insights, showcasing the most bet on female athletes and teams in 2021.
These insights include Nelly Korda coming in at number one in golf and Ashleigh Barty at number two in tennis. It also included the women that won/lost the most money for DraftKings users in 2021. For instance, MMA star Julianna Pena won the most money for DraftKings users over the year.
DraftKings officially established International Women’s Day as a company holiday on March 8th, 2021.
