Codere CEO succession plan to commence
The company has appointed two Co-CEOs covering the two global spheres in which the company is active.
Succession is in the air at Codere after it was announced that the current CEO is due to be replaced by two Co-CEOs.
Vicente Di Loreto, who has served as CEO since January 2018, has decided to step down. He has spent 35 years at the European operator which has extensive operations in Latin America. Di Loreto will remain at the company as a board member.
Replacing him are two incoming CEOs, Alberto González del Solar and Alejandro Rodino.
The move, which is still subject to shareholder approval, is due to be completed by July 1.
Solar has been Retail COO at the company since 2019. He has been extensively involved in the company’s Latin American operations (Argentina especially) as well as in its technology arm. His time at Codere dates back to 2005.
Rodino is the group’s current Chief Strategy and Corporate Areas Officer. Prior to that role, he was Retail COO for Spain. Having joined the company in 2003, he brings to the role significant experience in business operations and strategy.
Outgoing CEO Di Loreto offered these comments on the changes: “It has been an honor these last four years to be CEO of Codere Group. Alejandro, Alberto and I have been working together for many years and I am convinced that this new arrangement captures what is best for the company.
“On completion of the restructuring, I have made a lifestyle decision and decided to pass on the baton of executive responsibility.”
Together, the new CEOs cover the two spheres in which Codere operates. The gaming operator’s markets include two nations in Europe – Italy and Spain – as well as five in Latin America – Argentina, Mexico, Panama, Colombia and Uruguay.
