San Luis opens addiction center to the public

San Luis Province’s Ministry of Health, in Argentina, will host a week-long open house at the Center for Addiction Prevention and Assistance (CPAA), offering the community direct access to its addiction treatment services, including programs addressing problem gambling.

The initiative, titled “CPAA Opens Its Doors,” aims to raise public awareness about the scope of provincial addiction treatment policies and provide transparency around the services available to individuals and families seeking assistance. 

Activities will take place daily at the center’s headquarters, through interactive presentations led by multidisciplinary health teams.

During the open house, visitors will be introduced to CPAA’s comprehensive treatment model, which includes specialized services for gambling addiction, relapse prevention, pharmacy support, nursing care and physical therapy. The center also operates therapeutic groups tailored to specific populations, including adolescents, women and individuals undergoing treatment for alcoholism and tobacco dependence.

Problem gambling services will be highlighted as part of the center’s broader addiction treatment portfolio. According to provincial health authorities, CPAA combines outpatient treatment, day center services and group-based therapy to provide integrated and continuous care.

Each professional team will host dedicated interactive spaces to explain its work, answer questions and engage directly with community members. The weekly schedule includes presentations on pharmacy services and day center operations on Monday, women’s and adolescent programs on Tuesday, gambling addiction services on Wednesday, relapse prevention strategies on Thursday and alcoholism treatment groups on Friday.

The open house forms part of San Luis Province’s broader public health strategy to strengthen prevention, early detection and treatment mechanisms for addiction-related issues, including those linked to online gambling.
