The Arizona Department of Gaming has released its sports betting revenue figures for August 2025.

Sports betting figures

Of the $608.9m, $547.9m, or 90%, was returned to players in winnings. Similar can be seen with retail earnings, with $1.4m being won back by players.

} Arizona September mobile sports betting handle ($m)
By handle, the highest earning sportsbook was DraftKings at $182.8m, followed by FanDuel at $178.5m. These two were the highest earners by a significant margin, as the third-highest earner, bet365, reported $68m in handle, followed by BetMGM’s $67.2m. The lowest handle, by contrast, was reported by Golden Nugget Online Gaming, which made $39,604.
DraftKings also outperformed FanDuel in terms of revenue, though in this case the difference was far slimmer, making $19.7m compared to FanDuel’s $19.2m. The third-highest earner was BetMGM. Despite earning more in handle, BetMGM greatly outperformed bet365 in terms of revenue, making $8.3m compared to bet365’s $1.4m.
In retail, DraftKings made $309,281, Caesars $72,680 and BetMGM $845.70.
Interestingly, after adjustment, FanDuel still came out on top, making $14.2m to DraftKings’ $12.8m. This can be explained by DraftKings offering almost $2m more in free bets during the month, offering just shy of $7m compared to FanDuel’s $5m.
Of the fee given to the state, the 8% retail tax on the state’s three retail operators yielded $30,625, while the 10% on all mobile sports betting yielded $4.1m. Unsurprisingly, DraftKings and FanDuel were the biggest contributors to this, paying $1.3m and $1.4m, respectively.
Fantasy sports figures
By fantasy sports, PrizePicks saw the highest earnings at $898,826, a significant portion of the $1.4m total made by the segment. DraftKings was the second-highest earner with $215,536, followed by Underdog, making $170,031.
