Nevada’s October gaming revenue tops $1bn despite falling 4%

Nevada operators took home $1.022bn in October gaming revenue, down 4% year-on-year.
The Las Vegas Strip accounted for more than half the monthly revenue with $539m,down 9%.
The Strip was hit by poor showings on roulette (down 34%), blackjack (down 33%) and baccarat (down 27%).
Downtown Las Vegas surged to a successful month with $68.3m, up 7%.
Sports betting across the state brought in $47.9m.
Football led the way with a haul of $26.2m, up 132%.
Football betting revenue at downtown casinos increased 255% to $5.2m.
The Silver State edged out New Jersey’s October sports wagering revenue of $46.4m.
South Lake Tahoe monthly revenue grew to $19.5m, an improvement of more than 14%.
Reno saw its October revenue rise 4% to $76.3m.
Sportsbooks in Reno had a positive month highlighted by a 120% jump in football wagering
revenue.
