Yahoo Sports, BetMGM launch sportsbook

Yahoo Sportsbook launched Thursday in partnership with BetMGM.
The Yahoo Sports app now displays live odds and when users click on the odds, they will be
taken to the BetMGM platform.
Wagering is only available in New Jersey, though Yahoo Sports plans to expand the sportsbook to other states where sports betting is legal.
The launch of the Yahoo sportsbook comes three weeks after Yahoo Sports and BetMGM
announced an exclusive partnership.
Roar Digital, an online gaming venture owned by MGM Resorts, will power the sports betting platform.
New Jersey users who put down a $10 deposit will receive $100 in free bets.
BetMGM hopes to grab a sizable share of the New Jersey sports betting market, where monthly revenue rose to more than $46m in October.
In addition to the immediate wagering returns that Yahoo Sportsbook will provide, both Yahoo and MGM stand to profit from exposure across each other’s platforms.
MGM receives access to Yahoo Sports’ 60 million monthly users in the US. Yahoo Fantasy
Football generates nine billion minutes of user time per year.
Yahoo will see its content on display across MGM’s properties.
The partnership also calls for Yahoo Sports to broadcast 20 events a year from MGM properties.
