PointsBet creates SVP of communications position
Sportsbook operator taps veteran PR executive Patrick Sandusky for the role.
PointsBet on Thursday said it has created a new executive position, senior vice president of communications, and hired veteran communications and public affairs executive Patrick Sandusky.
The Denver-based global sportsbook operator said Sandusky will join the company May 3, handling external communications and media relations. He will report to PointsBet USA CEO, Johnny Aitken, while being based in PointsBet’s East Coast offices.
PointsBet said Sandusky has two decades of experience as a media spokesperson in both the US and UK. Most recently, he served as SVP of public relations at The Madison Square Garden Sports Company (MSG), where he was responsible for all communications and digital media activities across MSG-owned teams and properties.
Prior to MSG, Sandusky spent 10 years at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), as chief external affairs and communications officer.
Sandusky began his career with a decade at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, specializing in consumer-facing communications campaigns for the company’s London and Chicago offices.
Aitken said in a statement, “As the US sports betting market continues to expand and mature, Patrick’s wide range of executive experience and tireless work ethic will be a huge boon for the PointsBet team.
