Virgin Hotels Las Vegas opens following $200m renovation
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas opened its doors Thursday evening after a $200m renovation to the property that was formerly Hard Rock Hotel.
The 60,000 square-foot casino is operated by Mohegan Sun, making it the first tribal casino in Las Vegas.
The March 25 opening follows a lengthy delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The property was originally supposed to open January 15 but was pushed back because of the pandemic.
Virgin Hotels opens with no resorts fees and free parking. The casino includes 650 slots, more than 150 table games and features the Betfred Sportsbook.
“The opening of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is just one more positive sign of the recovery of the Las Vegas economy,” said Richard “Boz” Bosworth, President & CEO of JC Hospitality and Owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “We’re excited to have our team members back to work as we prepare to welcome locals and tourists alike at our completely redesigned resort.”
The casino-resort employees 1,600 people, including 1,300 former Hard Rock Hotel staff.
Dining establishments include Nobu, Casa Calavera, Kitchen at Commons Club, Pizza Forte and Night + Market.
Other amenities include the soon-to-open Elia dayclub and a five-acre pool complex.
