Hard Rock Atlantic City suicide prevention walk helps raise $1m

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City has hosted the sixth consecutive Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
This year’s walk was, for the second time, managed by Hard Rock Atlantic City General Manager, Michael Sampson. Indeed, the walk saw over $300,000 raised by the Casino Association of New Jersey alone – with the overall amount raised in funds towards suicide awareness and prevention initiatives topping $1m+.
Speaking on Hard Rock Atlantic City’s involvement in this year’s charity walk, Michael Sampson stated, “We are so proud and grateful for our community partners and for their incredible commitment to support the AFSP New Jersey Chapter. These efforts make a difference in the lives of so many and support AFSP’s mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those who are struggling with mental health issues.”
Good to know: Between 2018 and 2024, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City donated to over 500 different charities
This latest CSR initiative from Hard Rock follows the casino operator’s 12 Days of Giving food bank donation campaign undertaken during the Christmas period last December, which saw a $10,000 donation made to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Shortly after this, in Q1 2025, Hard Rock Atlantic City awarded $10m in bonuses to employees following a ‘record breaking’ 2024.
Elsewhere in New Jersey, Hard Rock Bet Casino announced the addition of new online gaming titles to its wagering platform earlier this month – with new titles from suppliers such as Light & Wonder being integrated onto the operator’s platform.
