New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin has unveiled plans to offer a free and confidential financial counseling service to residents of the Garden State, branded as GamFin, set to be made available through the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
“Our residents need support when they find that gaming becomes problematic, harmful or otherwise detrimental to their quality of life. That’s why DGE is launching this important pilot to provide financial counseling to those who need support with problem gambling,” Platkin said.
“If you are experiencing financial difficulties related to gambling, you don’t have to go it alone. We strongly encourage anyone who needs professional support to access the resources DGE offers.”

Good to know: The New Jersey DGE reported the state’s gaming activity throughout August 2025 on September 16, including a total revenue figure of $642.2m, representing an increase of 15.7%
“By partnering with GamFin, we are giving New Jersey residents access to practical tools and trusted guidance that can help them regain financial control, reduce stress and build a healthier future,” DGE Interim Director Mary Jo Flaherty said.
“We hope that people use this service to achieve financial well-being.”
Attorney General Platkin and the DGE also stated offering services such as GamFin were one of the recommendations made as part of the Responsible Gaming Task Force Report released earlier in 2025.
