Key Points
- Aristocrat Interactive CEO set to step down in March 2026
- He will be succeeded by current Light & Wonder iGaming CEO, Dylan Slaney
- This executive reshuffle also sees the departure of Natalie Toohey, who will be replace by Barry French
Supplier Aristocrat Interactive has announced that CEO Moti Malul is set to depart the business as of March 2026, with current Light & Wonder iGaming division CEO Dylan Slaney stepping in as his successor on 3 November.
Over the past 18 months, Malul has led Aristocrat Interactive through its initial phase after having guided NeoGames through its prior Aristocrat acquisition and is set to remain in the job until the conclusion of next year’s first quarter. Indeed, his successor has already been selected as the current Light & Wonder iGaming CEO, Dylan Slaney – who is set to move on from the supplier after seven years.
Fascinatingly, this latest appoint marks something of a shifting tide as, previously, a number of influential Aristocrat executives had moved over the other way to Light & Wonder – sparking a legal debate pertaining to the use of trade secrets which is still ongoing.
In addition to Malul’s departure, Aristocrat Interactive Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Natalie Toohey, has also announced her departure from the company following seven years in the role. Toohey is set to be succeeded by Barry French effective immediately, bringing 35 years of communications, technology, defence and transport experience with him to the role.
This latest update follows major update for both suppliers in the industry, with Light & Wonder announcing in July that it had become the latest successful applicant for a UAE vendor license, following on from Aristocrat in October 2024.
More recently, last month Aristocrat Interactive was also awarded a new iLottery contract by the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission – which is set to commence in July 2026.
Good to know: The legal dispute between the two companies has been going on for almost a year, and its centred largely around Aristocrat’s Dragon Link casino game
Speaking on this latest executive reshuffle, Aristocrat CEO and Managing Director, Trevor Croker said: “As we begin a new fiscal year, I am pleased to share two leadership appointments that consolidate the strong progress we’ve achieved and will help Aristocrat accelerate delivery of our strategy. I am delighted to welcome leaders of the calibre of Dylan and Barry to the Aristocrat executive team. Both are values-led leaders with collaborative and customer-centric mindsets.
“I want to express my thanks to Moti for his leadership through a period in which we brought together multiple teams to create Aristocrat Interactive, put in place an ambitious Group growth plan and took foundational steps towards its delivery. I also want to thank Natalie for her outstanding contribution.
“Natalie transformed our Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations capabilities and impact globally, while deepening vital stakeholder relationships and playing an important role in the resilience and growth of the business over a sustained period”
