Fanatics to launch sports betting operations in Missouri through Boyd Gaming partnership

Key Points
- Fanatics predicted an official launch of its sports betting operations for Missouri residents in December 2025, pending the receipt of all regulatory approvals
- The expansion follows the MGC’s approval of direct betting licenses for DraftKings and Circa Sports, as well as a partnership formed by FanDuel with St. Louis City SC
Fanatics Betting and Gaming has formed a new multi-year partnership with Boyd Gaming to expand its retail and online sportsbook operations into Missouri, projected to officially launch in December 2025 pending receipt of all regulatory approvals.
The two operators will also open Fanatics-branded retail sportsbook facilities at Boyd Gaming’s Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City and Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa St. Charles properties in Missouri.
Fanatics’ retail locations are said to offer multiple betting markets on professional sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and UFC, with the development and trading of each market completed in-house by Betting and Gaming personnel.
The expansion follows the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC)’s approval of direct betting licenses for DraftKings and Circa Sports on August 15, as well as a partnership formed by FanDuel with the St. Louis City SC professional soccer team.
DraftKings, Circa Sports and FanDuel each filed applications for a direct sports betting license in Missouri, having provided reasoning and official statements as part of a Commission meeting held on August 13.
Good to know: Century Casinos signed a long-term agreement with BetMGM on May 27 to help bring the operator’s sports wagering platform to players in Missouri
A direct license grants each operator the ability to offer sports wagering services within the state without a casino or professional sports team partner. The licenses cost $500,000 per operator whereas indirect licenses, which still require a partnership for the sportsbook to begin conducting operations, cost $250,000.
Missouri lawmakers officially passed mobile sports betting with a 50.05% vote in December 2024, as the state government anticipates opening the new market within the next four months.
