Key Points
- Over the 26 years since Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation first began hosting the golf tournament, over $4.5m has been raised for more than 70 charitable organizations
- 2025 recipients included Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County & the Inland Empire, California Fire Foundation, CIEFA, Home Base, Tribal Oak Tree Foster Family Agency and Restoring Ancestral Winds
The Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation and Yaamava’ Resort & Casino managed to raise $450,000 for six charities as part of the 2025 San Manuel Golf Tournament, having now surpassed over $4.5m of support for more than 70 charitable organizations since its inception.
Recipients of the 2025 tournament funding were reportedly selected to reflect the Tribe’s spirit of Yawa’ – meaning “to act on one’s beliefs” – and to drive “lasting impact for seven generations” through pillars such as education, economic development, health and cultural preservation.
Charitable organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County & the Inland Empire, California Fire Foundation, California Indian Education For All (CIEFA), Home Base, Tribal Oak Tree Foster Family Agency and Restoring Ancestral Winds received a $75,000 unrestricted gift, offering the flexibility to invest in areas of greatest need to assist its respective missions.
The California Fire Foundation offers emotional and financial support to families of fallen firefighters, active duty and the communities in which they serve, while CIEFA helps educators teach the histories, cultures and lasting contributions of California Native peoples.
Good to know: The Blue Lake Rancheria, Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians and Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians filed a lawsuit against Kalshi and Robinhood on July 22 for allegedly operating illegal sports betting on Tribal lands
Tribal Oak Tree Foster Family Agency provides social services and programs which look to “uplift” individuals, families and Tribes, as well as meet the needs of Native communities with “care and intention.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County & the Inland Empire connects adult mentors with over 3,900 children annually, as Home Base and Restoring Ancestral Winds provide outreach for those who served in the military or are potentially in violent relationships.
The San Manuel Golf Tournament was originally formed by the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation and Yaamava’ Resort & Casino 26 years ago, featuring a five-day event held at the Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California.
