Horseshoe Indianapolis to debut AI-powered handicapping tools, alongside Affinity Interactive

Affinity Interactive has partnered with Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino to implement a set of artificial intelligence and data-based handicapping tools for the 2025 racing season.

The collaboration includes the introduction of “A.I. Alan,” a virtual AI handicapper that will appear during daily simulcast coverage and an expansion of Daily Racing Form’s (DRF) analytics to provide users with additional information during the meet.

Eric Halstrom, VP and General Manager of Racing, said: “A.I. Alan is our new on-air virtual handicapper. He will be featured daily with auto-generated facts from DRF’s new AI data system.

“This information is specifically tailored to our racing product. We expect to have A.I. Alan fully functional by early June and his presence on our simulcasting program will be the first in the industry powered by AI.”

This partnership is part of DRF’s ongoing development under Affinity Interactive, combining data science and proprietary content to support new wagering formats across the sport.

Following the 2024 introduction of DRF’s TimeformUS Pace Graphs and DRF Projected Odds at Horseshoe Indianapolis, the 2025 season will feature a broader set of tools, including Runner and Race Profile Data, AI-generated insights by DRF Statline, DRF Formulator Facts, and a dedicated digital landing page for Horseshoe Indianapolis. 

These additions aim to provide bettors with structured information for use throughout the racing schedule.
