Indiana casinos report $222.6m in May revenue

The Indiana Gaming Commission has released its casino revenue results for the month of May.
Indiana is home to 13 commercial casinos. All locations reported a combined win total of almost $222.6m last month.
Slots and electronic gaming devices generated $183.3m in revenue last month, with another $39.3m coming from table games around the state.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, located in Gary, posted the largest win for the month, which reached close to $40m.
Other heavy hitters in the month of May included Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville with a win of $31m, Horseshoe Hammond with $23.8m and Caesars Southern Indiana with a $22.9m win.
Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson reported a May win of $22.5m.
Taxable adjusted gross revenue (AGR) at Indiana’s casinos reached $213m in May. Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana took the lead in May with the largest monthly AGR. The casino reported an AGR of more than $38.3m.
Indiana lawmakers recently passed a bill that will allow a statewide casino land study. Indiana Sen. Andy Zay drafted Senate Enrolled Act 43 (SEA 43), which recently moved to Gov. Mike Braun’s desk.
Under the terms of SEA 43, the Indiana Gaming Commission would be required to conduct an independent study “with the goal of identifying the top two regions in the state where a casino license could be relocated.”
The state gaming commission must submit the study’s findings to the Senate Budget Committee by November 1.
