Silverstein teams up with Rush Street Gaming to operate Avenir Casino project in New York

Silverstein Properties has named Rush Street Gaming as the official operator for its upcoming Avenir project, a complex proposed for Manhattan’s Far West Side. Rush Street brings over 25 years of experience in casino development and operations.
The announcement brings together three experienced players in real estate and gaming: Silverstein Properties, Rush Street Gaming, and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment. Greenwood will continue in its role as partner, advisor and investor. All three groups have collaborated on the project for almost two years.The Avenir site is located on 92,000 square feet of undeveloped land located near the Javits Convention Center. The property is described as shovel-ready, free of land-use or displacement hurdles.
According to the developers, the project is expected to generate 4,000 union construction jobs and over 5,000 permanent positions with industry leading benefits.

The complex is being marketed as an entertainment destination that reflects the culture of New York City while also generating billions in direct and indirect economic activity. The revised design for the Avenir will be released soon. The development still requires state approval to move forward under New York’s process for downstate casino licenses.
Rush Street Gaming has also seen recent change, with Cliff Ehrlich appointed as COO last year, adding to the company’s expansion efforts.
