Brazilian Football Confederation and Sportradar continue partnership against match-fixing

The new partnership is set to begin with the 2025 season and will cover over 8,200 matches.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has signed an extension to continue to work alongside Sportradar Integrity & Regulatory Services. 

Sportradar joined forces with CBF to combat fraud in 2018. The new partnership agreement is set to kick off with the 2025 season aiming to strengthen initiatives against match-fixing in Brazilian football and protect the sport’s integrity. In addition, under the new partnership, it was also decided to cover the national championship, monitoring, through the Universal Fraud Detection System, over a total of more than 8,200 men’s and women’s matches organized by the CBF.

The partnership renewal comes as global match-fixing cases dropped 17% in 2024, according to Sportradar. In Brazil, suspicious football matches fell by 48%, with 53 fewer cases than the previous year.

Ednaldo Rodrigues, President of the CBF, said: “Strengthening the integrity of Brazilian football is a priority for this administration, and the renewal of this partnership further reinforces our commitment to this mission. The work of the CBF’s Integrity Unit, in collaboration with Sportradar, will complement monitoring by FIFA and result in more than 10,000 Brazilian football matches being covered this season. It’s an impressive and symbolic milestone that makes us very proud. This is a partnership that has been bearing fruit and has been crucial in the fight against match-fixing, ensuring a fairer and safer environment for the sport.”

This type of monitoring by Sportradar is already working through existing agreements established with leading football organizations including CONMEBOL, FIFA, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Colombian Football Federation (FCF).
