Nevada sets fourth consecutive record for FY total gaming win with $15.6bn during 2024

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has released the state’s total gaming win for both December 2024 and full year (FY), reporting that Nevada has set a record in gaming win for the fourth consecutive year by generating over $15.6bn. 

The figure represents an increase of 0.6% year-over-year, primarily driven by slot machines which accounted for $10.5bn of the total gaming win and rose by 2.3% from the prior year period. Table games win decreased by 2.8% year-over-year, however, having generated nearly $5.1bn throughout FY2024. 

In the Clark County Las Vegas strip area, total gaming win during FY2024 decreased by 1% year-over-year to be reported at $8.8bn. Slot machines managed to increase its gaming win by 2.1% from the prior year period, accounting for $4.9bn of the Las Vegas strip’s total gaming win during FY2024. Table games win throughout FY2024 was $3.9bn, but decreased by just over 4.6% year-over-year. 

The figures may appear lower than expected given that the Las Vegas strip accounted for over 90% of Nevada’s FY2023 growth in total gaming win, but the area still managed to set a new record for slot machine win throughout FY2024. 

Total gaming win during December 2024 was the highest to ever be recorded in the month’s history for Nevada, with the state’s casinos having generated $1.46bn for an increase of 2% from the prior year period. Table games win decreased by nearly 16.5% year-over-year, though, but still managed to account for almost $480m of the total gaming win. Slot machines generated $981.1m during December 2024, rising by nearly 14.4% from the prior year period.

For the Las Vegas strip area, total gaming win during December 2024 was reported to be $881.3m, which represents a decrease of 2.7% year-over-year. Total gaming win was nearly evenly split between slot machines and table games, with slot machines accounting for $495.4m and increasing by 11.1% from the prior year period, while table games generated $385.9m for a decrease of 16% from the prior year period. 

In addition to Nevada, areas such as Clark County ($13.6bn), Downtown Las Vegas ($931.3m), Mesquite ($189m) and Carson Valley ($135.7m) set all-time gaming win totals throughout FY2024. Clark County managed to increase its total gaming win by 0.6% year-over-year, while the Downtown Las Vegas area grew by nearly 2.4% from the prior year period. 

Carson Valley’s new record for FY total gaming win represents an increase of 1.2% year-over-year, while Mesquite managed to grow its total gaming win by 3% during FY2024.
