Light & Wonder partners with Penn Entertainment in Michigan

The supplier’s player engagement product portfolio will be integrated into Hollywood Casino operations in the Great Lake State

Light & Wonder has partnered with Penn Entertainment to launch its player engagement product portfolio in Michigan via the operator’s online Hollywood Casino.
The portfolio includes several mechanics and tools, such as Light & Wonder’s Wonder Drops mechanic, free rounds, multiplayer games, tournaments and daily free games, among others. As part of the agreement, Penn will have exclusive access to these products.
On the partnership, Light & Wonder Chief Commercial Officer of iGaming Robert Hays said, “Launching the Wonder Drops marketing jackpots system with Hollywood Casino in Michigan is a key step in our strategy to offer operators a flexible system that provides for innovative and engaging gaming experiences. We believe this strategy will redefine how players all over the world interact with the content we offer.”
Penn Entertainment VP of Interactive Operations Jason Birney added, “We’re pleased to be the first operator to launch Light & Wonder’s player engagement portfolio. Gaining access to these tools enhances our ability to creatively engage our players in Michigan by adding unique elements to the popular Light & Wonder games on Hollywood Casino that they already know and love.”

At the end of 2024, Penn announced the launch of the Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania. The app, running on proprietary Penn technology, offers over 700 iGaming options to players, with the app set to launch in additional states later this year.
However, Hollywood Casino also saw recent growth in the land-based sector, with the announcement of an ESPN Bet retail sportsbook at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course earlier this month.
