Lottery.com adds Colorado to its service territory
Company expanding as Mega Millions, Powerball jackpots roll to a combined $1.6 billion.
Lottery.com, an Austin, Texas-based company that enables consumers to play state-sanctioned lottery games from a mobile device, on Thursday said residents of Colorado now can use its services.
The company noted it is expanding at an opportune time, as “lotto fever kicks in” in many states across the US. Both the Mega Millions and Powerball games rolled over on their 12 and 13 January draws, respectively, bring their jackpots to $750m and $640m.
This is the third time in history the two games have had simultaneous jackpots of more than $400m, Lottery.com said.
The Colorado Lottery is the only state lottery in the country dedicated to conservation, Lottery.com said. The Colorado Lottery has given back more than $3.5 billion to parks, trails and recreation projects.
“Having been born and raised in Denver, I am thrilled to be launching our platform in my home state,” Tony DiMatteo, CEO of Lottery.com, said in a statement. “As more people are staying home and safe, we are happy to provide a solution to allow users to play the lottery safely and securely, from the comfort of their own home, while supporting the beautiful parks, trails and open spaces that Colorado has to offer.”
On 19 November, 2020, Lottery.com announced a binding letter of intent to combine with Trident Acquisitions Corp., which would make Lottery.com a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
Lottery.com also is gamifying charitable giving. Its WinTogether.org platform offers charitable donation sweepstakes to incentivize donors to take action by offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences and large cash prizes.
