Nevada reports $1.3bn in total gaming win for September 2024

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has reported the state’s gaming results for the month of September, which saw an increase in total gaming win and slot machine revenue throughout the period.
Total gaming revenue was reported to be just over $1.3bn, an increase of 3.34% from the prior year period. Slot machine revenue accounted for almost $897m of the total gaming win generated during September, an increase of 10.1% year-over-year.
The state did report a decrease in gaming win from table, counter and card games, however, as the sector accounted for nearly $416m during September, an 8.8% decrease from the prior year period.
Despite the increase in total gaming win, only $5 and multi-denomination slots were reported to increase year-over-year. $5 slots grew by 36.6% from the prior year period for a total gaming win of over $6m, while multi-denomination slots generated $624.3m, an increase of 31.76%.
One cent, five cent and $25 slots saw the biggest decreases in total gaming win, reported to fall 22.74%, 41.33% and 29.8% respectively from the prior year period. In table, counter and card games, only craps (4.17%), mini-baccarat (36.9%), keno (35.9%) and sports pool (29.8%) were reported to have increased in total gaming win year-over-year.
From the state’s sportsbook gaming wins, only pari-mutuel race books, baseball and hockey decreased from the prior year period. Hockey seeing a decrease of 61.78% year-over-year is the biggest surprise figuring regular season play began in early October.

While an increase could be seen in October, the state still saw growth from basketball and football gaming wins despite both leagues having begun play shortly before the NHL.
Football represented the state’s largest gaming win at $55.8m and an increase of 49% from the prior year period, while mobile betting accounted for nearly $36m as well, an increase of 24.2% year-over-year.
The Clark County Las Vegas Strip area decreased in total gaming revenue by 1.8% from the prior year period, reporting a total of nearly $727.7m for September.
