LV Sands adds second woman to board of directors

Nora Jordan, head of New York City law firm’s Investment Management Group, will join 1 January.
Las Vegas Sands Corp will have its second woman on its board of directors as of 1 January.
The gaming company said Nora Jordan was elected as its newest board member in a government filing.
Jordan has spent her entire professional career as an attorney for the New York City law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. She was an associate from 1983 to 1995 when she made partner. From 1995 to present she has headed up the firm’s Investment Management Group.
In her role with the Investment Management Group, Jordan advises clients on collective investment vehicles, including hedge funds, mutual funds, closed-end funds and private equity funds. She has served as counsel to the adviser, the fund or the independent directors, depending on the client.
Jordan has also worked on a number of internal and SEC investigations involving asset managers and has worked on several acquisitions, reorganizations and structurings. In addition, she has provided exemptive advice concerning the Investment Company Act for industrial holding companies and non-US trading companies, banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
