Sam Ullrich appointed Churchill Downs VP of Investor Relations

He has previously held positions at KFC and YUM.
Churchill Downs has named Sam Ullrich as the company’s Vice President of Investor Relations.
Within this role, Ullrich will report to Churchill Downs’ EVP and CFO Marcia Dall, and his responsibilities will involve all aspects of investor relations, working with current as well as prospective shareholders and analysts.
Coming to this role, Ullrich brings with him 15 years of financial experience with publicly traded companies, which has included roles within the restaurant industry.
His career, however, began at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) in the Assurance practice for several years based in Louisville, Kentucky.
Since then, he has held numerous finance and accounting positions at both Yum and KFC, a Yum! Brands subsidiary, until he was promoted to KFC US Interim Chief Financial Officer in October 2022 overseeing a $5bn brand with over 4,000 restaurants across the US.
Prior to his new role with Churchill Downs, Ullrich was the Director, Commercial and Financial Planning for KFC.
This news comes around a month after Churchill Downs released its financial results for the first quarter of 2024, reporting a record-high net revenue of $590.9m, though net income dropped significantly in the quarter, by 48%, to $80.4m.
In other personnel news, Catena Media has named Jasleen Kals as its Vice President Product, a newly created role within the company structure, as it “takes another step forward in its transition to a product-first operating model.”
