Frankie Dettori rides to victory at Santa Anita, big cashouts cost bet365
The Italian jockey announced plans to retire last year.
Italian superstar Frankie Dettori recently rode his way to six consecutive wins at Santa Anita. The jockey had previously announced last year that he was going to retire.
The win was good news for one bet365 player, who was able to cash out for a five-figure win of £22,858.76 ($28,912.45), as pictured.
More than 90 million users across 160 countries and 22 languages represent the bet365 customer base.
Dettori is best known for his 1996 2,500/1 through the card win at Ascot. However, bet365 noted that his recent victory “demonstrated exactly why he decided against hanging up his saddle.”
“Not a bad effort from a jockey who said he was retiring a year ago,” commented bet365’s Pat Cooney. “The six-timer paid out a whopping 90,088/1 and easily resulted in a seven-figure payout. His shortest price ride on the card was the even-money favorite, Imagination, in the high-profile Santa Anita Derby and we were relieved to see him beaten.”
Cooney went on to add, “Many customers successfully used our Cash Out option throughout the evening – notably one customer who cashed out just before the defeat of Getthemoney in Race 8.”
Company PRO Steve Freeth also took a moment to comment on Dettori’s win.
He said, “Let’s talk about Frankie Dettori! His 90,088/1 six-timer at Santa Anita on Saturday had the liabilities running into seven figures.
“The majority of the damage was done in cashouts with punters saying enough is enough before the aptly named Getthemoney went to post for Race 9 after he’d ridden the six previous winners.”
