Continent 8 Technologies has expanded into the US state of Vermont.
The move follows significant US growth and will see the infrastructure provider support the three online sports betting platforms currently operating in the state; DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics.
The newly regulated online sports betting state is expected to generate nearly $7m in proceeds for the state in its first full year of regulated sports betting.
Legislation passed on June 16 2023, with the Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery announcing that legal sports betting would go live on 11 January 2024.
The department also granted licenses to three operators to kick off sports betting in the Green Mountain State, which is the 38th US state to sign sports betting into law.
Continent 8 has strengthened its foothold steadily in the US over recent years. The provider is now live in 30 states.
Commenting on its latest expansion, Founder and CEO of Continent 8 Technologies Michael Tobin said: “We are proud to be able to support our customers in their strategic launch in one of the year’s most anticipated newly regulated online sports betting states. We have been relentless in our pursuit as a market leader and putting customers first.
“Our bold, first-to-market approach, done so over 25 years, is one of the many reasons our global customers continue to trust us with their mission-critical technology and have developed such close strategic partnerships for decades. We are extremely excited to be planting a flag in the state of Vermont, not only for the future of the business, but one where I have a strong personal history.”
Last year, Continent 8 launched in multiple states including North Carolina, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Ohio.
