The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has said Las Vegas visitors paid higher rates for their hotels during November, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.
November brought in the largest hotel rate of any month in history, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said.
Room rates reached an average of $204.18 per night, with some guests paying as much as $249.31, according to the report. The boost in price was due largely to last month’s Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
This was the first time Las Vegas has hosted the four-night race since the Caesars Palace Grand Prix of the early 1980s.
Rates for hotels on the Strip averaged $270.17 per night, reflecting a 37.7% increase when compared to average room costs during November 2022.
Rates for hotels in downtown Vegas grew 10.6% year-over-year and reached $108.67, the report said.
Harry Reid International Airport also reported an increase in travel during the month. In its report, the airport said it had its best November on record. Nearly 4.8 million passengers came through during the month.
Close to 52.8 million passengers have traveled through Harry Reid International Airport so far this year, according to its figures.
International arrivals were up 11.6% when compared to numbers from one year ago. The airport reported 265,664 international arrivals and departures during November.
The good news for the local gaming industry was that the boost in tourism brought with it record-high gaming revenue.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board recently reported that Clark County gaming revenue climbed to an all-time high of nearly $1.22bn during the month.
Statewide gaming revenue in November reached $1.37bn, Nevada’s second-highest month of all time.
