The sports variant uses a 'more or less' mechanic for player statistics and will have its initial launch in six states.

DraftKings has announced its latest product, Pick6, as well as a release date of December 6. The variant game will offer a ‘more or less’ mechanic that generates the statistics of the fantasy sports players and will initially feature players seen in both the NFL and NBA contests.

The game will be launched in six states with more expected to join later. These six states are Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

Alongside the variant aspect of play, the game will also integrate peer-to-peer gameplay, as does DraftKings' other fantasy sports games. This means players can engage with one another with the fantasy teams they have built, with their teams consisting of two to six players from various major-league teams.

Other gameplay elements will include a ‘My Picks’ function, which will allow players to monitor their player picks including those that are submitted, live and finalized. The app will be available for download on iOS and Android.

It has been a busy two weeks for DraftKings, with the company being announced as the featured retail sportsbook at the Golden Nugget Biloxi in Mississippi last Tuesday, among other notable events.

On the launch of the new game, DraftKings’ CPO Corey Gottlieb said, “For the past decade, DraftKings has defined innovation in fantasy sports,

“Pick6 is the next great example of that innovation — this is a homegrown, peer-to-peer product that taps into our customers’ desire for fun, simple-to-play experiences tied to their favorite athletes. We are excited to give our customers another way to experience live sports by competing against each other.”
