Konami Gaming has appointed former employee, Eric Schultz, as its new VP of Studio operations. Though coming directly from a role as the VP of Game Technology with Everi for the last five years, Schultz worked with Konami from 2004 until 2017, leaving after achieving a Senior Director position within Konami’s VLT & Software Platform department.
Now returning to Konami, Schultz will oversee software development, sound design, art design, math design, project management, new product development, future product enhancements and existing product lifecycle support. His previous roles as a Konami engineer, Senior Manager of Game Software, Senior Director of Game Software Engineering and Senior Director of VLT & Software will no doubt aid him in this new position.
Steve Sutherland, President and CEO of Konami, said, “Eric Schultz brings a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams to achieve strong product outcomes in the field for our casino customers and their players.
“Our team is committed to growth in expanding sectors and global markets, and we look forward to continued momentum with Eric’s leadership and cooperative efforts across Konami’s game studios.”
In October, Konami announced the promotions of five business development and sales employees with the company, who have taken on leadership roles. Justin Torres and Josh Faish became Directors of Sales, while Caroline Byne, Jeff Fuller and Rick Tribble became Directors of Business Development.
Konami also recently partnered with Xailient earlier this month to release a new system that combines Konami’s Synkros casino management technology with Xailient’s AI facial recognition tools.
