Nevada Gaming Control Board executive director and chairwoman Sandra Douglass Morgan has resigned from her role to join Fidelity National Financial’s Board of Directors.
Morgan became the first African-American to chair the NGCB when Governor Steve Sisolak appointed her to the position in January 2019.
Sisolak said he will announce Morgan’s replacement in the near future.
“It has been a privilege to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board with such a rich and proficient history in gaming regulation,” she said in a statement. “Working with an outstanding and dedicated staff throughout the state has been the honor of a lifetime.”
Morgan’s highlights include managing the review of Eldorado Resorts’ merger with Caesars Entertainment, passing discrimination and harassment policies and leading the NGCB’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
