Users will have increased access to player prop wagers

The Yahoo Sportsbook said it is making several changes to the user experience for the Yahoo Sports app and BetMGM.

The company said it is “streamlining” the registration and onboarding process, and adding player prop odds information to Yahoo Fantasy.

After these changes, Yahoo Sports users can tap their Yahoo login to register and sign in to their BetMGM account. Users with a BetMGM account can place bets with BetMGM without having to download the BetMGM app.

Yahoo Fantasy enthusiasts will be able to access player prop odds on the players tab and player card within the Yahoo Fantasy app, and then make wagers. BetMGM said it will introduce player prop odds based on fantasy point totals, which it said will leverage Yahoo’s fantasy scoring system.

Yahoo users in four states – New Jersey, Indiana, West Virginia and Colorado – have the ability to place bets on BetMGM. More states are working on legalization.

Verizon Media and BetMGM entered into a multiyear strategic partnership in October 2019.

“At Yahoo Sports we are continuing to provide new ways for sports fans to go beyond engaging with content and interact in a seamless way with the sports that they love,” Geoff Reiss, GM of Yahoo Sports, said in a statement. “The new features continue to enhance our fan’s experience and as we continue to reimagine the future of sports.”

Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “Since announcing our partnership with Yahoo in 2019 we have worked closely together to produce great sports betting content and are excited to have new product features and a much easier integration with BetMGM for Yahoo’s Sportsbook and Fantasy users to enjoy.”
