The company has titled Schatz as Chief Analytics Officer.

FTN Network will now feature sports data analyst Aaron Schatz’s insights, alongside a range of new football-related content.

FTN Network is a company that produces advanced NFL data for betting. The company has partnered with DVOA analyst Schatz and has given him the title of Chief Analytics Officer.

DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average) calculates a team's success based on the down-and-distance of each play during the season, then calculates how much more or less successful each team is compared to the league average.

Schatz joined FTN after leaving Football Outsiders, which he created in 2003. This will be the first time Schatz’s unique NFL Data is available directly to other businesses.

Previously, Schatz has written for ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, as well as making appearances as a regular panelist on ESPN 2’s Numbers Never Lie. He has also written for other publications including The New York Times, The Boston Globe and Slate.

Schatz’s insights will be posted on FTN Bets, FTN Daily and FTN Fantasy. FTN Bets subscribers will see DVOA and other stats such as adjusted line yards incorporated into its NFL Model, while FTN Daily customers will have access to DVOA vs specific defenders.

Meanwhile, FTN Fantasy will have DVOA, Defense-adjusted Yards Above Replacement (DYAR) and other stats unique to Schatz’s analytics available to its subscribers.
