Elite Casino Resorts, management of Grand Island Resort in Nebraska, has confirmed to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission (NRGC) that table games will be approved for its casino venue. Five blackjack tables, a craps table, a roulette table and Texas hold’em table will be included, and 46 slot machines will also be added to the casino floor.
The NRGC voted unanimously for the new games’ approval, making them the first table games approved in the state of Nebraska. Tables were set up last week as part of a “dress rehearsal” according to the Lincoln Journal Star.
NRGC Chairman Deniss Lee said, “I think it's appropriate that Grand Island be the first because of its long history in this state with horseracing.”
Grand Island Casino Resort is currently operating out of a temporary venue, but Regional VP for Elite Casino Resorts, Sharon Haselhoff maintains that the facility is doing its job well. “It creates an environment that is a lot more than gaming. We're giving more of a resort experience."
The casino will also open a sports betting kiosk this week. The NRGC has expanded Grand Island Resort’s sports betting catalogue, to match that of WarHorse Lincoln Casino as part of the recent meeting, too.
While WarHorse has partnered with Kambi Group to operate its retail sportsbook, there has not yet been an announcement of which operator will partner with Grand Island Resort. WarHorse’s Lincoln location is also currently a temporary facility.
