The rollout comes on the heels of ESPN's bold move to get into sports betting with Penn National.

ESPN Fantasy Football is rolling out new features and tools for the 2023 season, including updates to ESPN FantasyCast and an improved Players tab.

The updates to gameplay have been made on both ESPN.com and the ESPN Fantasy App.

The update to the ESPN FantasyCast, which is a live scoring feature, boasts better win probability and new visuals when touchdowns are scored.

The updated Players tab will make it easier for users to add free agents and submit waiver claims.

There also are new message types in Fantasy Chat, including roster add/drops, trades and weekly recaps, and new league customization, which, if enacted by commissioners, will allow fractional kicker scoring, customization of the length of each playoff round and even the option of re-seeding matchups for each playoff round.

In addition, there’s a new Team Name Generator, which allows team managers to answer a few questions to create the ideal name for their Fantasy team.

These updates come on the heels of ESPN’s bold venture into sports betting with its new partnership with Penn National and the forthcoming opening of ESPN Bet sportsbooks.

ESPN is kicking off the Fantasy season on August 14 with the ESPN Fantasy Football Marathon, which will include 27 hours of ESPN Fantasy Football programming on Fantasy Football Now and NFL Live and special editions of SportsCenter, Get Up!, First Take, The Fantasy Focus Football Podcast and Daily Wager.

There’s also extensive Fantasy football content on ESPN.com including the 2023 ESPN Fantasy Football Draft Guide.
