Atlantis Paradise Island to host WSOP winter tournament in the Bahamas

World Series of Poker (WSOP) will kick off its WSOP Paradise winter tournament this year at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The event will take place from December 3 to December 14.
WSOP Paradise is a newly minted series that comes from an ongoing partnership with online poker operator GGPoker.
Its portfolio of game titles includes Rush & Cash poker, All-In or Fold, Flip & Go, Spin & Gold, Battle Royale, GGCare & GGCheers and PokerCraft.
GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu stated, “GGPoker is delighted to launch WSOP Paradise and welcome hundreds of players from all over the world to Atlantis Paradise Island this December.
“It’s going to be an absolutely amazing experience, the best of poker at one of the world’s most luxurious resorts!”
WSOP SVP and Executive Director Ty Stewart commented on the tournament’s productive summer and said the company looks forward to continuing the momentum this winter.
Stewart said, “The summer was an unprecedented success, but the vision is equally as ambitious for WSOP Paradise. We have the strongest online partner in the world, and they are set to send a record number of qualifiers to a live tournament.
“Atlantis also has a great legacy in poker, and we believe this combination of partners can deliver poker’s most powerful new franchise for years to come. Many players say summer in Vegas is the best time of year. We hope that will only be rivaled by winter in paradise.”
WSOP has been running since 1970. To date, the tournament has awarded winners more than $3.6bn in prize money.
