Parking ambassadors at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Maryland will join Teamsters Local 639.

Parking ambassadors at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Maryland have unanimously voted in favor of joining Teamster Local 639.

Teamsters Local 639 represents workers in a wide variety of industries throughout Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia since 1934. 

Bill Davis, President of Local 639 in Washington DC, said, "Congratulations to the MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino workers on their successful organizing victory. These workers provide exceptional service to casino visitors and play a pivotal role in MGM's daily operations. We look forward to helping them secure their first Teamster contract."

Steve Williams, Parking Ambassador at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino, said, "We provide a key service for visitors at MGM National Harbor and deserve to be compensated fairly.

"I know that Teamsters Local 639 will hold management accountable and help us get the respect, improved working conditions and decent wages we need to provide for our families. We can't wait to start working on our first collective bargaining agreement."

MGM Resorts reported $3.87bn in revenue for the first quarter this year. MGM has 31 resort gaming destinations across the US, Japan and China

Also this year, MGM Resorts announced that it will acquire Push Gaming via LeoVegas. The purchase of the slot games studio is expected to be completed by the end of 20233. This will mark the first high-profile purchase by LeoVegas since the company was acquired by MGM Resort.

Venetian Resort valets and traffic controllers also joined a Teamsters Union, joining Teamster Local 986 this year.
