The Resorts Casino Hotel celebrates its 45th anniversary

A host of activities, including the annual beach ball drop, will be part of the event.
Resorts Casino Hotel is having its 45th-anniversary celebration on May 26. The Atlantic City-based casino was the first American casino to open outside of Nevada when it launched in 1978.
The event will feature a variety of activities and live entertainment over Memorial Weekend.
The itinerary for the day will start at 1pm, consisting of tote bag giveaways, boardwalk activities and entertainment, and the annual opening of the seas ceremony. The opening of the seas ceremony will be hosted by Kelsey Grammer. The Frasier star will host the event alongside the Mayor of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Snr.
There will also be a commemorative toast in Lounge 78 at Bar One before the New York Bee Gees will play a show at the Super Star Theater to finish the day’s events.
One of the key parts of the day’s event will be the annual beach ball drop. This will see over 5,000 beach balls dropped at The Atlantic City Broadwalk at 5pm as part of the annual tradition to kick off the summer period.
There will be other events throughout the day including unique sand sculptures by renowned artist John Gowdy and promotions from Wiseguy Entertainment, The Kilted Rogues Bagpipers and Brittany Lynn from Philly Drag Mafia.
The summer festivities will make use of Resorts Casino Hotel’s pool, which was reopened last year after a $4m remodel.
Meanwhile, 2013 saw the completion of $130m in upgrades to Resorts Casino Hotel, including the new Resorts Conference Center, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and Landshark Grill Complex.
