As Problem Gambling Awareness Month kicks off, Epic Risk Management has stated that it will continue to educate US players and warn them of the risks associated with problem gambling. The company through the years has partnered with other organizations to advocated for safe gambling spaces.
Epic recently partnered with Intenta to offer responsible gaming education and mental health awareness through a new campaign called #MindYourGame.
The campaign utilizes a growing interest in esports as an avenue to reach students through video content series called Gaming World. The program’s reach will extend to 40 states and more than 450 schools.
Epic Risk Management Director John Millington explained the importance of giving US players an encouraging safe gambling message.
He commented: “We regularly repeat the message that the US has the chance to create the safest gambling industry in the world.
“This is linked to the ongoing state-by-state legalization of sports wagering that has been taking place over recent years; we want to ensure that safeguarding takes place at the same time as the new opportunities to bet are rolled out in each state, and education plays a key role in that process.
Millington went on to emphasize the company’s commitment to see a dramatic reduction in problem gambling throughout the US.
He concluded by saying: “Through lived experience, we aim to take the problem out of gambling, and the way in which we do this is something we wish to continue to highlight thanks to the enhanced public awareness that PGAM provides.
“As we enter our tenth year, we have built a reputation as the global leader in preventing gambling-related harm via education, awareness, advisory and training, and we are keen to take the chance to reiterate this message within American homes throughout the course of this month-long campaign and beyond.”
Epic is an independent gambling harm minimization consultancy and works to help mitigate the risks and potentially devastating effects of program gambling. The company launched a subsidiary in Delaware in September 2021 to service both US and Canadian territories.
