The company said US implementation remains a key focus.

Elys Game Technology, an interactive gaming and sports betting technology company, has received a Gaming Labs International certification.

This will allow the company to operate its sports betting platform “in accordance with the testing, inspection and compliance standards” that have been set by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC).

Elys said the certification is a key component “to the retail or land-based sports betting market, which is a focal point of Elys’ initial US implementation strategy."

Executive Chairman Michele Ciavarella said in a statement: “With the GLI 20 and GLI 33 certification of our retail betting platform under the OCCC standards, Elys is continuing to layer the foundational blocks of our expansion throughout the US.

“The US market has grown significantly since the repeal of PASPA in May 2018 with about 37 states now allowing or having passed legislation to permit some form of regulated sports betting.”

Ciavarella went on to discuss the company’s current statistics and estimates and noted the potential gross revenue in the US could reach $10bn this year, based on Elys’ internal analysis reports.

The figure assumes that the US sports betting market reaches 42 states this year.

Ciavarella said in closing: “As previously stated, we continue to hold our estimate that the addressable market for our Elys technology in the US can significantly outsize that of our Italian core operations over the next few years, and thus scaling value creation for our long-term shareholders.”

Elys offers gaming products and services, such as sports betting, esports, virtual sports, online casino, poker, bingo, interactive games and slots.
