The tournament will commence on January 26 with a likely $1m payout for the overall winner.

Americas Cardroom (ACR) has announced its impending $10m Venom tournament, which is set to kick off on January 26. The tournament ends February 8 with the outright winner likely to take home over $1m.

ACR is an Americana-themed poker room that became part of the Winning Poker Network in 2011, joining a host of other trusted online poker rooms. It has had a busy past few months, giving 10 players chance to win entry to its Enjoy Poker Series Main Event, which takes place in Uruguay in April from the 8th – the 13th.

The Venom tournament, meanwhile, will take place in Costa Rica and the multi-day tournament will offer five Day 1 options, from January 26 to February 5. Day 2 will take place on Monday 6th, Day 3 on Tuesday the 7th, before the tournament culminates with the Final Table on February 8th.

The standard tournament buy-in is $2,650. However, players can get a piece of the action for a fraction of the cost through freerolls and satellites such as The Venom Madness $44 Mega Satellite. This event takes place on Saturday, February 4th with 20 seats guaranteed.

ACR Team Pro Chris Moneymaker said: “I’m really glad ACR is running this fantastic tournament for an eighth time. The added generosity of satellites and freerolls associated with the tournament means there are lots of options to play and potentially win, changing your life in the process. See you at the tables!”

This year’s edition of the Venom tournament will encompass a different structure due to player feedback. Each Day 1 will end around 90 minutes earlier than in prior years and play will be slowed down when the field gets down to around 100. The final table will allow for a deeper starting stack as well.
