Tipico Sportsbook has teamed up with Bigplay, a sports and entertainment network that is based in Cleveland, Ohio. Together, they will celebrate Ohio’s sports betting market opening on New Year’s day by hosting streaming programs on their social handles.
Cleveland Browns Quarterback and Bigplay host, Bernie Kosar, will place the first wager live on the Tipico Sportsbook platform at midnight on 1 January as part of the festivities. Kosar said he will place a $19,000 moneyline wager on the Cleveland Browns during its square-off against Pittsburgh. He chose the amount of the bet based on his former jersey number.
As part of the agreement, Tipico will represent Bigplay as its official sponsor during live shows and games.
Tipico North America CCO David Paschkes said: “Partnering with one of the fastest growing live sports content networks on the internet is a natural extension of our goal to captivate the diehard, impassioned fan bases across the Buckeye State.
“We are thrilled to have the first Tipico bet in Ohio placed by Cleveland football legend and Bigplay host Bernie Kosar to commence a successful and long-lasting presence in the state of Ohio.”
Bigplay Founder Dave McAllester described the company’s relationship with Tipico as an ideal match and said that Bigplay looks forward to future collaboration.
He commented: “We couldn’t think of a better match than Tipico to be our exclusive partner. As we focus on elevating sports media across Ohio, Tipico is working to create the ultimate sports betting experience.
“We are proud to have our talent engage with a sportsbook that is truly dedicated to our fans and listeners, and together we will provide the great state of Ohio with unparalleled action in 2023 and beyond.”
Tipico US recently launched its free-to-play game contest in the state of Ohio via its “Win Ohio” campaign.
The release is an anticipation of sports betting legalization in Ohio. “Win Ohio” was created to “celebrate the platform launch and reward the state’s most passionate sports fans.”
Sports betting in Ohio will launch on 1 January 2023. State lawmakers passed House Bill 29 toward the end of 2021, setting statewide legalized sports betting in motion.
