Employees at Tropicana Las Vegas can now make an informed choice regarding union representation.

Bally’s has signed a labor neutrality agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), regarding its Tropicana Las Vegas location. The deal will offer employees the ability to make an “informed decision” about union representation.

Bally's Chairman of the Board Soo Kim said: "Bally's employees are our most valuable asset and we have worked hard to ensure that they maintain an unimpeded right to select their representation.

“We have an established track record of building positive relationships with organized labor and look forward to continuing to foster our relationship with IUOE."

Under the terms of the deal, both parties will take “a neutral approach to organizing campaigns.”

The IUOE has more than 400,000 active members. Its 123 local unions are local across the United States and Canada.

IUOE Local 501 Organizing Director Jose Soto commented: "Bally's and IUOE are aligned in our efforts to advance employee representation locally and at the national level.

"As a result of the commitment and integrity demonstrated by Mr. Kim and his team, we've developed a strong relationship with Bally's that we are confident will benefit the company's workforce for many years to come."

Bally's Corporation recently completed its transaction with a Chicago real estate private equity firm to secure the 30-acre property that is currently home to Tribute Publishing Center. The investor acquired the land for $200m.

Bally’s entered a land lease agreement with the investor for the property, which is the future site of Bally’s Chicago casino.

The company recently took another step forward with project by signing a multi-project labor agreement (PLA) with both the Chicago & Cook County Building & Construction Trades Council (CCBT) and the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department.
