Epic Risk Management and Intenta have linked arms to educate students around the country about responsible gaming safety and mental health awareness through a new campaign called #MindYourGame.
The campaign utilizes a growing interest in esports as an avenue to reach students through video content series called Gaming World. The program’s reach will extend to 40 states and more than 450 schools.
Epic Director of CSR Paul Findlay said: “It is great news that Epic’s lived experience of gambling harm through loot boxes is being put to perfect use via the Gaming World content series within the #MindYourGame campaign. It provides vital awareness on the potential gambling harm that is hidden in esports and gaming.
“The wider program offers some crucial mental health and well-being advice to young people and is proof of the exponential benefits of market leaders in their area of expertise collaborating for the greater good.”
The #MindYourGame campaign is designed to engage both students and parents through worksheets, mindfulness exercises and a 15-minute mental wellness consultation offered at no charge. Community forms and peer support resources are also available through the program.
Intenta Co-Founder Cam Adair emphasized the importance of educating youth about responsible gaming because of the growing interest in skins betting and loot boxes.
Adair commented: “Epic’s industry-leading expertise in gambling is a great addition to the #MindYourGame campaign. With the convergence of gaming and gambling through loot boxes and skins betting, it’s more important than ever that young players are aware of the potential risks involved.
“As a result, they will be better equipped to make safer and informed decisions when gaming.”
