Players statewide can win prizes and earn points during major sporting events.

Tipico US has launched a free-to-play contest in the state of Ohio via its “Win Ohio” campaign. Buckeye State residents have access to scratch-and-win contests through both the company’s website and its mobile sportsbook app.

The release is an anticipation of sports betting legalization in Ohio. “Win Ohio” was created to “celebrate the platform launch and reward the state’s most passionate sports fans.”

Sports betting in Ohio will launch January 1, 2023. State lawmakers passed House Bill 29 toward the end of 2021, setting statewide legalized sports betting in motion.

Tipico US CEO Adrian Vella said: “’Win Ohio’ is a call to action for the diehard Ohio sports fan. After the long-awaited decision to legalize sports betting, we’re thrilled to introduce Ohioans to a platform that shares their passion for wagering on sports and creates memorable, personalized experiences.

“We are on a mission to discover the most loyal fans in Ohio and we look forward to providing them with the opportunity to compete for glory.”

As part of the ‘Win Ohio’ interface, players can access four gameplay features each week for various professional sporting event matchups, including NFL Thursday Night Football, College Saturday, NFL Sunday and NFL Monday Night Football.

Players can earn points on the contest leaderboard and keep track of their picks, entries and winnings on the contest homepage.

Tipico has gained market access in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa and Ohio. It currently offers online sports betting in Iowa, Colorado and in New Jersey, where the company also operates an online casino.
