The iGaming company wishes to expand its North American presence.

Hacksaw Gaming, a mobile-first games provider, has been granted a provisional license to operate in West Virginia. The company’s CEO Marcus Cordes commented that this marks the “start of a significant expansion into the US.”

The company first made inroads into North America in May, when it was granted an operator license in Ontario. Last month, Hacksaw signed a partnership agreement with Loto-Québec, agreeing to release its popular titles in the province.

These titles include games such as Rocket Reels and The Hand of Anubis.

Now the company is looking to spread from its base in Canada in regards to the North American market. It will go live in West Virginia in the first quarter of 2023 with Light and Wonder.

Cordes commented: “This latest expansion comes after our license approvals in Romania and the Isle of Man earlier in 2022, so we’re finishing the year just as strongly as we started it. Being granted this license is testimony to the quality of our games portfolio and shows just how robust and engaging our content is.”

IGaming has seen a boom in the Mountain State, with a 60% increase in approved operator licenses in October year-on-year, and a 12% increase from last month.

Hacksaw Gaming SVP of Compliance North America Christine Bordeaux commented: “We have an exciting strategy for the US and our team is focused on delivering yet more excellent and memorable products to delight that market.”

Hacksaw Gaming develops slots games, instant win games and scratch cards. It works in more than 18 regulated markets and provides its iGaming platform to large online gaming brands, as well as to several governments.
