The former BetMGM executive will take over iGaming at Caesars Entertainment starting October 1.

Matt Sunderland, a former executive for BetMGM, has been named Senior Vice President of iGaming at Caesars. His new role with the company will take effect on October 1.

Previously serving as BetMGM’s Vice President of Gaming, Sunderland has held several senior leadership roles during his career.

Before his recent appointment, he served as an online gaming consultant for BetMGM, and, before that, as Marketing, Digital & Product Consultant for Online Gaming at MGM Resorts International.

He has also worked for GVC, now known as Entain, and International Game Technology (IGT), serving as Group Digital & Marketing Director.

Sunderland has also held roles outside of gaming, working as Head of Commercial Marketing for CNN between 2000 and 2003.

Caesars Digital President Eric Hession commented: "We’re thrilled to have Matt join the Caesars team. His deep experience and successful track record will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our iGaming and sports betting business. We’re looking forward to what we can accomplish together with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino."

Caesars Sportsbook & Casino launched in April 2021 and is active in Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ontario and most recently, Kansas.

The mobile Caesars Sportsbook app is available to download in Kansas as of September 1.

In regard to the Kansas launch, Hession added: "Our Caesars Sportsbook app has never been more user-friendly, and when you combine that with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities offered through Caesars Rewards, we're thrilled about what we can bring to Kansas sports fans in time for football season."

Every wager placed earns tier credits for status and reward credits via the Caesars Rewards customer loyalty program.
