John Worthington spent time as the General Manager for Gamewise and led the operator through its first US sportsbook launch in early 2022. Now, he'll serve Jackpocket as the first VP of Interactive Gaming.
Before his time with Gamewise, Worthington served as Senior Director of iGaming and Sports Operation for Parx Casino, where he was a key part of the team that launched online gaming in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan.
He also has experience as a VP of iGaming Operations when he was with Penn Interactive Ventures. During his time there, Worthington helped create and develop the group's first online casino product.
With Jackpocket, he will lead the expansion of Jackpocket's offerings to iGaming, starting with new products to market in New Jersey, where the company has secured market access for an online casino through Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey, LLC.
Jackpocket Founder and CEO Pete Sullivan commented: "We are thrilled to welcome John and tap into his extensive leadership, operational, and regulatory experience to usher Jackpocket's expansion into casino and other iGaming products."
Sullivan added: "With John at the helm, we're investigating the game formats and features that will resonate with lottery players and look forward to bringing a truly seamless gaming experience to our players."
The strategic direction of the products offered by Jackpocket will be determined by Worthington. At the moment, Jackpocket is targeting 2023 for the launch of its online casino product in New Jersey, in which Worthington will be intrinsically involved.
Worthington noted: "Jackpocket is the proven leader in the digital lottery space, and I'm proud to join the team during this time of exciting product expansion."
He continued: "There is so much opportunity ahead to leverage products, features, and expertise throughout Jackpocket to extend that customer relationship through an innovative iGaming product, first in New Jersey and then in other markets."
In 2022, Jackpocket has added major league sports partners such as the Colorado Rockies, the Texas Rangers and the New Jersey Devils.
