June of last year saw sports betting in Oregon hit $2.8m. This year that number has fallen to $2.6m, which is a 10.7% dip year-over-year. The number declined significantly from the $5m in May 2022.
Throughout the month, DraftKings in Oregon saw customers wager $34m on sports, which was 36.6% higher than $24.9m in June last year. However, these wagers are still 18.5% down from May of the current year.
DraftKings has a state-wide partnership with the Oregon Lottery. In June, DraftKings generated $2.6m in revenue from $33.9m in player bets. Most of these bets went to baseball, considering other major sports have slowed down.
Baseball saw the most action with a total of $13.9m in bets, following behind was basketball with $7.6m. The "other" category brought in $5.3m, while soccer brought in $2.5m and tennis earned $2.3m in bets.
Singles and teasers were also the focal point of bettors with DraftKings in June. Overall, $25.2 worth of bets were singles and teasers while only $8.7m was spent on parlays. Parlays could see a significant jump once the NFL season begins.
Scoreboard, another company accepting wagers within Oregon, posted $55,750 worth of single and teaser bets placed in June while only $520 were parlay bets.
May was an all-time high for sports betting within Oregon, topping the previous high set in November of 2021. A few weeks ago, Caesar's Racebook went live in Oregon and Montana, in partnership with NYRA Bets LLC.
The partnership between these two began in January 2022, and, in six months, the Caesars Racebook has launched in five states: Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Oregon, and Montana.
Preliminary college football betting odds have also been released, which could increase the sports betting numbers in Oregon for July.
